Upper eyelid ptosis corrected under local in office by Dr. Levesque. Austin, TX

Procedure Details

Our patient was noticing difficulty with seeing objects in the upper part of his visual field and complaining of looking tired. After evaluation we were able to diagnose upper eyelid ptosis and expected this was a result of levator dehiscence which can happen with normal aging or trauma. Dr. Levesque was able to correct the droopy eyelids with a upper lid blepharoplasty with (tarsolevator advancement) using and open sky technique. Dr. Levesque typically performs these procedures in his Austin office under local anesthesia. This allows for patient participation to assess the repair in real time and avoids risks and side effects of stronger anesthesia such as intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. His recovery was uneventful and he is shown at three months with good correction of his concerns and an age appropriate natural look.
