Our patient, a mother with a history of abdominal surgery, was unhappy with a depressed exploratory laparotomy scar, particularly below the belly button. She also felt dissatisfied with her abdominal core strength and contour, noting excess lower abdominal skin. Given the existing abdominal scar, we determined that a fleur de lis lipoabdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, would be an effective solution to reduce the torso's vertical and horizontal dimensions while allowing for scar revision.
The fleur de lis tummy tuck is often used for patients who have experienced massive weight loss, as it removes excess skin in both vertical and horizontal directions. In this case, we could employ this technique without adding any additional scars, making it an ideal approach for her.
The procedure was performed under general anesthesia at an accredited surgery center. We employed early recovery after surgery protocols to optimize her recovery, and used chemoprophylaxis with Lovenox to minimize the risk of thromboembolism, following best practices.
Our patient is pleased with her outcome, and we are honored she chose us to help achieve her aesthetic goals. Her results showcase a renewed abdominal contour and improved core strength, all achieved with the precision and expertise you can expect from Levesque Plastic Surgery.
