Dysport treatments are done as an outpatient procedure at our office, Levesque Plastic Surgery. If it is your first time visit us in Austin, TX for Dysport, we typically perform the injection during your consultation with Dr. Levesque. You will be asked to make several facial expressions that engage the upper face, such as squinting, frowning, etc., which will allow us to determine where the injections should be placed. The skin will be cleansed and Dysport will be applied with a fine needle, followed by a cold compress to help minimize discomfort and bruising. You can request a numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable, but the vast majority of our patients do not use numbing cream. Dysport injections typically take about 10-15 minutes. After your treatment, you can resume your normal daily routine as soon as you feel able. 

After Dysport injections you can get back to your regular routine, but strenuous activity should be avoided for a least 4 hours. The treated area should not be massaged for at least 24 hours. Make up can be applied gently to the treated area. The treated area(s) of the face may appear swollen, bruised, or red for 2-3 days, but you will not develop any lasting or serious side effects. In many cases, it typically takes about 7-10 days before the full effects of Dysport can be seen. The results usually last 2-3 months. How much does Dysport cost?

The cost of Dysport will depend on how many units are used for the treatment. This number will vary based on your desired results and goals. During your consultation, we will develop your personal treatment plan and estimate your costs accordingly. However, it can be unsafe if done by someone without the proper training, which is why it's better to avoid places offering very low priced or knock-off injections. How long will my results last?

Your Dysport results can last up to 3 months. Most patients make an appointment every 3 months or so to maintain their results, but you may come back sooner if desired. What is the difference between Dysport and fillers?

Dysport and fillers are both treatments that reduce wrinkles and smooth fine lines. Dysport relaxes the overused facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, like frown lines. Dysport relaxes the overused facial muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles, like lines between the eyebrows (glabella), Crow's feet (in the outer corners of the eyes), forehead wrinkles, and smile lines. Injectable fillers add volume under the skin to correct hollow areas and decrease static wrinkles. After hearing your goals, Dr. Levesque may recommend Dysport, fillers or a combination of both for a liquid "facelift".  

What is the difference between Dysport, Botox and Xeomin?

Dsyport, botox and Xeomin are brands of neuromodulators that use botulinum toxin (type A). Each of these relax facial muscles to smooth dynamic wrinkles, but each formula is designed to suit specific areas and needs.
