Treatment & longevity
Treatment takes minutes, with numbing and lidocaine in the gel for comfort. You may have mild swelling or bruising for a few days, but most people return to their day right away. Results are visible immediately and settle over one to two weeks.
Depending on the product and area, results typically last from around six months to well over a year, and can be maintained with periodic touch-ups.

Reversible by design, placed by a surgeon
One of the great advantages of hyaluronic-acid fillers like Restylane is that they're reversible. If you ever want to adjust or undo a result, an enzyme called hyaluronidase can dissolve the product — a safety net that surgical options and biostimulators don't offer, and one reason HA filler is such a comfortable first step into injectables.
Filler safety is fundamentally an anatomy problem: the most serious (and rare) complication is accidental injection into a blood vessel. Your injector's knowledge of where those vessels run is your best protection. Dr. Levesque is a board-certified plastic surgeon who works in this anatomy in the operating room, and he injects conservatively — using cannulas where appropriate and building results gradually rather than overfilling.
Everyday side effects are usually limited to temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising that settles within a few days. Restylane isn't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with a known allergy to its ingredients or an active infection at the treatment site.
