About Lip Lift
Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Andre Y. Levesque offers lip lift surgery (Bullhorn lip lift) at his practice in Austin, TX. An upper lip lift is a surgical procedure that should only be done by a board-certified surgeon. When people look at faces, they focus on the eyes and mouth, so the lips have a very important role in how others perceive you. The relationship of the upper lip to the nose determines the relationship and harmony between the lower and middle thirds of your face. The length of the upper lip plays a big role in facial proportions.
Ideal candidates for a lip lift procedure are those who need to improve the shape and balance of the upper lip without needing additional volume. Patients who have had filler in the upper lip and continue to have the lip roll inward due to a long upper lip. Once the long upper lip is shortened volume can be added to maximize the fullness of the lip. Dr Levesque evaluates all patients in consultation to see if they are candidates for lip lift in his Austin, TX office.

"Levesque Plastic Surgery is the best! They make you feel like family. Never rushed, always considerate, and give you the best experience. I’ve seen Helen for lip filler and she made the experience seamless. The kindest and most patient person. They are the only office I go to for cosmetic procedures"- J.F. / Google / Jan 19, 2024
The lip lift procedure involves removing a small strip of skin from under the nose. This shortens the area between the base of the nose and the top of the lip (the philtrum) to expose more of the vermillion (the darker colored part of the lips), which makes the lips appear fuller and more youthful. This procedure rolls the vermillion border (the line between the normal lip skin and the vermillion) up slightly, giving more definition and contour to the Cupid’s bow and revealing more of your upper teeth (what doctors call “tooth show”). Once the lip lift procedure has been performed the patient will forever have lasting results. Dr Andre Levesque performs this procedure in his Austin, TX office or at one of several local surgery centers in Austin, TX.
What to Expect
Lip lift is a customizable procedure that Dr Andre Levesque performs in his Austin, TX office outpatient procedure that is done under local anesthesia and takes about an hour. If requested this procedure can be done at a local surgery center in Austin, TX; however most patients prefer to have it performed in the office. The upper lip will have an improved shape and volume. After a lip lift procedure patients will experience mild discomfort and swelling for about 1 week. Most patients can return to work and other normal activities in 1-2 days after the procedure. Strenuous activity, opening the mouth wide and excessive talking should be avoided for 3-4 days (this is to minimize stress to the area and help promote healing). Makeup can be applied after stitches are removed which is typically after 1 week. It will take about 4 weeks for patients to appreciate the final lip lift result. Levesque Plastic Surgery Austin, TX staff and Dr Andre Levesque will be available to answer questions and address any concerns our patients may have during their preop/postop interim.
