When treating male patients at Levesque Plastic Surgery, our goal is to deliver a sharp jawline and a refreshed appearance without being overly aggressive or feminizing facial features. This Austin patient wanted to address severe neck laxity, jowling, and a loss of lower face definition. We performed this procedure entirely under local anesthesia with oral (PO) medications, completely eliminating the risks and recovery burden of general anesthesia or IV sedation.
Advanced Surgical Techniques
Instead of simply pulling skin, we utilized a deep plane facelift and advanced neck contouring to structurally reposition muscle layers:
Deep Neck Contouring: We sculpted the heavy volume beneath the chin to restore a crisp, masculine 90-degree angle.
Mastoid Crevasse Technique: To secure the lift, we anchor deep tissue into the natural mastoid crevasse behind the ear. This provides maximum jawline support without a tight, operated look.
Incision Design & Scar Minimization
To avoid shifting sideburns or exposing scars around short hair, we minimized the scar burden with precise anatomical placement:
Pre-Tragal Incision: We proceed cleanly in front of the tragus to prevent cartilage distortion and stop hair-bearing skin from being pulled onto the ear.
Strategic Borders: The incision was strictly limited to the sideburn border, helix rim, and just into the posterior neck hairline, leaving the scars virtually imperceptible at 4 months.
