Our patient desired facial rejuvenation and particularly was unhappy with her lower face and neck. She felt like her appearance was giving others the impression that she was tired when in fact she felt that she had plenty of energy. We discussed options for facial rejuvenation and recommended a face and necklift using a sub SMAS flap vertical vector lift and lateral platysmaplasty. We desired to avoid a scar in the under chin area and elected not to perform an anterior platysmaplasty. We also felt she would be perfect to add fat to the medial cheek, along the orbital rim both upper and lower, temples, and nasolabial folds. She was a great candidate to have the procedure in our office with a little medication taken by mouth only and local anesthesia. She tolerated her procedure very well and her post operative course was uneventful. Her pain medication requirement was only a couple days and she experienced no ill effects like nausea, vomiting, or fatigue frequently encountered with a general anesthetic.
