Deep Plane Face/Necklift under local anesthesia. Dr. Levesque Austin TX

Our patient was exhibiting signs of early aging with some mild to moderate jowl formation, blunting of the cervicomental angle and overall laxity of the facial tissues. We performed a deep plane face and necklift in our Austin office under a local anesthesia with a couple oral medications. This is a specialized technique we routinely perform that requires patience by the surgeon and patient while we are performing blocks and tumescent infiltration to get patients numb and comfortable. ONce this is accomplished we perform a true sub SMAS dissection that releases the important facial ligaments of masseteric, zygomatic, cervical, and mandibular to allow repositioning of the SMAS and facial fat without tension. In the platysma we split the muscle below the angle of the mandible and reposition in a diagonal direction securing behind the ear to serve as a sling of the submental neck region. The excess skin is only removed so there is absolutely no tension on the skin closure. This is essential to avoid wide visible scars and a unnatural appearance of the face. We love her refreshed look and thrilled at her overall result and already see excellent quality scars in appropriate locations without distortion of the hairline or ear.
