Our patient came to us with concerns of facial aging and looking a little tired and had a previous facelift years ago. After examining our patient Dr. Levesque recommended a facelift/necklift and also fat grafting to the cheeks, nasolabial fold, corner of the mouth.
The procedure was completed under a general anesthesia as an outpatient surgery before Dr. Levesque was performing the procedure routinely in the office under local anesthesia. Dr. Levesque still performs facelifts under general anesthesia when patients request.
The procedure performed was a SMAS Plication and lateral platysmaplasty. This involve tightening of the superficial muscles of the face and neck through a lateral approach. Fat grafting was then performed in a structural fashion harvested from the abdomen to the cheeks, nasolabial folds. and marionette lines.
Our patient is shown relatively early after her procedure and some of the hairline incision is still visible but will fade to be imperceptible with time.
