Surgeon's Perspective

Dr. Levesque on the Breast Reduction

A small reduction with a lift is about shape and proportion more than dramatic size change. A superomedial pedicle keeps the nipple well-vascularized while letting me lift it and reshape the breast, and the inverted-T pattern removes the excess skin to elevate everything.

Taking a bit more from the left than the right — 300 versus 240 grams — evens out her natural asymmetry. The scars are pink now at a few months and, with silicone-strip scar therapy, will continue to fade.
