Surgeon's Perspective

Dr. Levesque on the Tummy Tuck

Even a thin, fit mom can look 'still pregnant' when the rectus muscles have separated — diastasis widens the abdominal wall and no amount of exercise closes it. Repairing it surgically is the only fix, and it's the core of this lipoabdominoplasty.

Alongside the muscle repair we removed the excess skin and stretch marks and contoured the flanks. She's shown after a small lateral-scar revision, so that segment is a touch darker and will continue to even out.
