Surgeon's Perspective

Dr. Levesque on the Eyelid Lift

A ‘tired’ look after eyelid surgery is often not a skin problem — it’s a functional one. When the levator muscle dehisces, the lid sits low over the iris no matter how much skin is removed.

Repairing the muscle (tarsolevator advancement) under local anesthesia lets me set lid height and symmetry with the patient awake — the most reliable way to get it right.
